(FAI), the world's air sports federation, was founded in 1905. An international, non-profit-making, non-governmental organisation, the FAI's main aim is the development throughout the world of sport aviation and astronautical activities. Ever growing, FAI is now an organisation of some 100 member countries. The FAI General Conference is the supreme body of FAI to deal with all FAI's executive, legislative and financial matters. The General Conference consists of delegates appointed by all Active and Associate Members over the world, designated representatives of International Affiliate Members, FAI elected Officers, Presidents of Honour, Honorary Patrons of FAI, Companions of Honour, and Presidents of Commissions and Committees or their duly appointed deputies. The FAI General Conference is hosted annually by a selected active member through bidding process in the prior General Conference. The 2009 FAI General Conference is the 103rd General Conference since 1905. This 103rd FAI General Conference was awarded to Incheon, Republic of Korea, at the 101st General Conference in Rhodes-Greece 2007. Incheon Metropolitan City is a gateway to Northeast Asia with both international port and international airport in its hand. Incheon is located in the mid-west Korea peninsula abutting the Yellow Sea, and 28km from the nation’s capital, Seoul. Incheon is the fastest growing city in Korea at the moment. The representative symbol of developments of Incheon is the Sondo Free Economic Zone. Numerous global companies and investors are gathering to participate in this developing opportunities. Incheon Metropolitan City government is organizing the "Global Fair & Festival 2009" for 80 days during 7th of July and 25th of October, 2009, to show the Incheon's aims as a new future city. The 103rd FAI General Conference is one of major programs of the "Global Fair & Festival 2009".
